Spring Favorites

A few must-haves on my latest lust list for spring!

Floral pants- Sometimes, I go through stages where I absolutely love certain floral patterns and others, I don't. In this case, I am loving floral printed bottoms. Obviously, floral prints are always a huge trend for spring. They are normally on blouses and dresses, but pants are where I have been noticing them a lot lately. I wrote about printed pants just recently seen here and I said it is all about balance. When styling this look, keep your pants the main focus. Add a neutral blouse, such as black, beige, or cream. If you're feeling brave, add a fuchsia or citrine blouse and play with color. As for shoes, you can go really simple with a pointed black flat or add some height in chunky wedges. I am all about versatility and printed floral pants let you create so many different looks for day or night.

Neon belt- A pop of color is always a good idea, especially when it's a pop of neon. Whenever I put on color, it just makes me happier. I love the unexpectedness of having a bold bright in your outfit, whether it is your clutch or in this case, your belt. You can wear a neon belt over your favorite LBD for a night out with the girls or wear a neon belt with boyfriend capris and a basic black tee for a casual daytime look. I love an all neon ensemble, but sometimes it's just as fun to add color in the most unexpected ways.

Round sunglasses- Something about the relaxed shape of these sunglasses make me feel like they're the ultimate spring accessory. Structured glasses are now a thing of the past. The cat-eye was big last spring/summer. However, this season, it is all about free-spiritedness and round sunglasses are the perfect accessory. The Prada glasses above are probably the most coveted round sunglasses for every fashionista in the industry. Their swirly side design makes them unique and whimsical.

Pointed heels- I am really loving feminine heels right now. Honestly, I was happy to see there were not a lot of platforms on the runway this season. Pointed heels are making their way back into fashion and they are the perfect shoes to accompany any outfit in your closet. To me, a pointed-toe shoe exudes femininity and polishes off any look.  I chose a nude pointed heel on my lust list, because the wearability is endless.

Pastel colored nails- Lavender, periwinkle, and peach are all my favorite nail colors to wear this spring. Pastels were a big trend on the runway from Phillip Lim, Louis Vuitton, and Ralph Lauren. Although these colors were all over the spring runways, I wouldn't recommend them for everyone. I have very fair skin and these particular colors completely wash me out. That's why I prefer to wear them on my nails! I really think pastel colored nails are a fresh alternative to the electric hues we're used to seeing for nail polishes.

Must-have Beauty Product: Revlon Lip Butter

When I discovered Revlon Lip Butter, I was hooked. Honestly, these lipsticks are the epitome of everything you would want in a lipstick. It glides on and stays on. The lipstick is like a gloss and lip stain all in one. I started with Berry Smoothie, which is a color fitting to the name. It's like a berry pink. It makes my lips look fuller and softer. I use it with MAC Spice lip liner and it looks beautiful. After the reaction I had with my first Revlon Lip Butter, I purchased Peach Parfait. I tried it on the other day and it is a very subtle peach color. I really need to apply a lot of this color and then use my lip liner to enhance my lips. Either way, I love these lipsticks and I highly recommend purchasing one or two! There is a variety of colors to choose from, so I'm sure you will find one suitable for your skin tone.

Trend Alert: Printed Pants

Printed pants are an essential for any girl and a top must-have on my list for spring trends. Prints are a great way to bring some zest into your wardrobe. Some of the most coveted prints for spring are of course feminine florals, such as botanical and tropical prints. Or, go edgy with geometric and mirrored print pants. When it comes to styling your printed pants, you can do a head-to-toe printed ensemble or break it up with a neutral blouse, because it really is all about balance. I love this particular pant in a more tailored style, with the length just hitting your ankles. I also love the 70s vibe with an oversized flare. Just depending on your comfort level and body shape, either style pant is flattering. I wouldn't recommend doing the printed harem pant. That look isn't attractive on anyone! The printed pant is all about being playful, so have fun with it. You really can do no wrong.

CLUTCH Magazine Release Party

Yesterday evening was the release party for CLUTCH Magazine's spring 2012 issue at the Midtown Filling Station here in Tallahassee. It was definitely a night to remember. There were raffle prizes, swag bags for guests, CLUTCH-tinis, and just an all around good vibe. The party was sponsored by College Candy who really made everything extra special. It was great to hear the positive feedback from everyone about the magazine that we all worked so hard to create in such a short amount of time. Overall, the night could not have gone better. It was so nice to see everyone come out to support CLUTCH and the directors. I feel so blessed to be a part of the CLUTCH Magazine team and I cannot wait to show you all the online version of the magazine, which will be out shortly. In the meantime, here are some pictures from throughout the night and a sneak peak of the cover!
