It's that time of year when love is in the air. The weather is the perfect temperature to host an outdoor wedding. A girlfriend of mine asked me what is appropriate attire to wear to a wedding by the beach. Understandably, this is a great question. Considering, a beach wedding is more than likely very casual. Heels are out of the question, because it is very difficult walking in the sand. However, you can certainly wear wedges. Wedges are more practical, because you can wipe them off if they get dirty and the sole is flat, so you won't get stuck in the sand. Flats are also a great option. Maybe, an embellished pair in a bright color, like coral or yellow. Next, I always believe you should wear a dress to a wedding. It could be a maxi or cocktail dress. If it's outdoors, your dress should be preferably cotton, silk, or linen blend. These are the most breathable fabrics. Or, if you're eco-friendly, bamboo has an even higher breathability than cotton. (Always check the fabric content before you purchase a new garment.) These lightweight fabrics will be comfortable to wear during an outdoor wedding. The last thing you want is to be sweating all night at the reception! If there is a slight breeze, wear a floral scarf, beaded cardigan, or a sophisticated shawl layered over your dress. With your dress and shoes picked out, accessorizing should be your next step to completing the perfect spring wedding attire. If the wedding is more formal, stick with gold jewelry and crystal stones. If it is more casual, layer some turquoise necklaces together for a bold statement. Lastly, a small clutch is the perfect size to store your lipstick and camera. You never want to take the spotlight from the bride, so stay away from white dresses, revealing clothing, opulent accessories, or bold makeup. It is the brides special day, so keep everything to a minimum. I hope this has helped your styling dilemma's when it comes to dressing for an outdoor wedding!

Neutrals are great because they match with any color you pair it with. Look for beige, blush, or cream colors to compliment any shade you choose for your dress. I love the idea of wearing a sandal to an outdoor wedding. The added detail of a flower petal appliqué or embellishment makes the sandal appear more appropriate for a formal get-together.
