Palazzo Pants

Here I go again, ranting and raving about how much I love the wide-leg trend. Fashion bloggers unite with the Palazzo Pants from ASOS. I spotted Liz Cherkasova of Late Afternoon and Carolina Engman of Fashion Squad both wearing these wide-leg beauties. I can't get over just how versatile these pants are. They look flattering on every body type and can easily elongate your legs by wearing platforms.  The variety of tops to wear with the Palazzo Pants are endless. Form-fitting, blousy, tank, structured, tied button down, crop top etc. In addition, they are perfect to dress up with a blazer or dress down with a denim jacket. Trust me, you will get a lot of wearbility with a pant such as this. These are the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe, considering they are loose and airy. I hope you love these just as much as I do and maybe get a pair for yourself. ASOS.com offers stylish clothing available for any occasion and any budget. Did I mention that they cover shipping?!

Outfit Inspiration

Not really too keen on this Audrina girl, but nevertheless she looks adorable in her 70's inspired look. I am loving the high-waisted jeans, billowy blouse and the gold detail on her belt pulls the look together. I would say, this has to be my favorite look to re-create this summer. Perfect Spring Wedding Attire

It's that time of year when love is in the air. The weather is the perfect temperature to host an outdoor wedding. A girlfriend of mine asked me what is appropriate attire to wear to a wedding by the beach. Understandably, this is a great question. Considering, a beach wedding is more than likely very casual. Heels are out of the question, because it is very difficult walking in the sand. However, you can certainly wear wedges. Wedges are more practical, because you can wipe them off if they get dirty and the sole is flat, so you won't get stuck in the sand. Flats are also a great option. Maybe, an embellished pair in a bright color, like coral or yellow. Next, I always believe you should wear a dress to a wedding. It could be a maxi or cocktail dress. If it's outdoors, your dress should be preferably cotton, silk, or linen blend. These are the most breathable fabrics. Or, if you're eco-friendly, bamboo has an even higher breathability than cotton. (Always check the fabric content before you purchase a new garment.) These lightweight fabrics will be comfortable to wear during an outdoor wedding. The last thing you want is to be sweating all night at the reception! If there is a slight breeze, wear a floral scarf, beaded cardigan, or a sophisticated shawl layered over your dress. With your dress and shoes picked out, accessorizing should be your next step to completing the perfect spring wedding attire. If the wedding is more formal, stick with gold jewelry and crystal stones. If it is more casual, layer some turquoise necklaces together for a bold statement. Lastly, a small clutch is the perfect size to store your lipstick and camera. You never want to take the spotlight from the bride, so stay away from white dresses, revealing clothing, opulent accessories, or bold makeup. It is the brides special day, so keep everything to a minimum. I hope this has helped your styling dilemma's when it comes to dressing for an outdoor wedding!

Dress
Searching through Nordstrom.com, I found some pretty good contenders. These dresses are just to give you an idea of what to look for. I am absolutely loving bold colors for spring. I think these bright hues are perfect to incorporate into an outdoor wedding.

I also think neutrals and blush tones work well for a wedding by the beach. They are more subdued and natural. You instantly create a look that's clean and classic.

Shoes
Neutrals are great because they match with any color you pair it with. Look for beige, blush, or cream colors to compliment any shade you choose for your dress. I love the idea of wearing a sandal to an outdoor wedding. The added detail of a flower petal appliqué or embellishment makes the sandal appear more appropriate for a formal get-together.

Favorite Accessory Trend: Long Earrings

I have an obsession with jewelry and I get really excited when a new jewelry trend resurfaces on the runway.  Long earrings are making its way back into fall fashion and I couldn't be happier. Especially when they involve fringe, feathers, and gorgeous gems. We saw fringe earrings on the spring 2011 runway from Louis Vuitton and Chanel. Tassels and fringe earrings are unique and add that instant glam affect right when you slip them on. Oscar De La Renta is by far one of my favorite designers. Not only did he bring charm and elegance with his beaded tassel earrings, but made them completely wearable combined with formal gowns. I am also coveting his emerald gemstone drop earrings, which are equally as beautiful when you let them take center stage with your hair in a slicked back bun. Erdem shows us that glass chandelier earrings can be paired with the brightest of brights. Ralph Lauren travels back to the Orient, with jade and onyx stones. A classic combination that makes me want to channel far east fashion. Statement earrings can transform your entire outfit and upgrade your look to the utmost sophistication.

What Does Lipstick Do For You?

I hardly ever wear a bold lip, unless it's a special occasion. I'm a college student, so deciding whether or not to wear lipstick during the day is the last thing on my mind. However, I went to Kohl's initially looking for home goods, but came across the beauty counter and noticed that Flirt! Cosmetics had so many beautiful lipstick shades. I couldn't help myself, I felt like a kid in a candy store! I must-have tried on ten different lipsticks. Which lead me to the winner. ChickStick #19 in Sangria. It glides on easily and creates a matte effect. The color is similar to a bubblegum pink. I purchased my secret weapon and didn't bother to take it off. I wore it to the grocery store, bank, library and I received so many compliments! Not only did it whiten my smile, but the bright pink shade only complimented my fair skin and gave it a subtle glow. I will definitely reconsider wearing a bold lip while running errands. I felt so glamorous. What does lipstick do for you?

The Classic Print: Stripes

I am absolutely loving stripes this season. Stripes go hand-in-hand with the nautical theme that's very popular for spring/summer fashion. This classic print will never go out of style and goes seamlessly with anything you pair it with. Stripes can also bring bold brights to your wardrobe. Neon hues are a huge trend this season. You can easily incorporate both by looking for candy-colored stripes. Stripe prints come in a variety of colors and sizes. There is timeless black, red and navy, neon stripes, skinny, bold horizontal, vertical, etc. You can go subtle with a stripe blouse and break up the print with a blazer, or have fun with a stripe maxi dress. Don't be afraid to combine thick and thin stripes, either! This timeless print is a definite must-have in your closet.

Just One Of The Boys

It is no surprise that high-fashion designers have developed an affinity for unisex clothing. When looking through multiple fall 2011 fashion shows, I've noticed many designers are getting inspired by the opposite sex. Menswear inspired clothing has been featured in fashion shows throughout various seasons. However, this trend is about to be taken to a whole new extreme. It isn't about dressing in mens clothing and adding your own femininity. It is all about keeping that boyish charm. Androgynous looks are more widely accepted in the world of fashion, so don't be hesitant to exhibit some boyish flare with your outfits. This look is particularly popular amongst models such as british beauty Agyness Deyn, Freja Beha Erichsen, and gender-bending Andrej Pejic. I actually quite like this trend, which is strange because I am such a girly-girl when it comes to fashion. However, it is a refreshing change to see women dressed in more masculine suits and ties.

Trend Alert: Feminine Bows

I love the idea of pulling together an outfit with a super feminine bow. We all know that the seventies and menswear trends are some of the biggest fashion statements for fall 2011. You can combine both, with this simple addition. A floppy bow! I preferably like bows tied loosely around the neck. Anywhere else is too frou-frou for me. I feel it looks professional, but it can also look stylish and sophisticated at the same time. I also love the fact that we're seeing a lot of tuxedo dressing right now for fall fashion. The feminine bow trend fits right in with that, as well.
