Ladylike Demure

Zac Posen's Spring 2012 collection embodies a mixture of fifties fashion, as well as hints of the twenties. It is probably one of my favorite collections thus far, because it combined two of the most influential eras in fashion. Ladylike qualities haven't gone anywhere for spring and fall fashions. Its advantage being that the ladylike trend flatters the female body and accentuates all curves. Marchesa also jumped on the roaring twenties bandwagon. Georgina Chapman's collection was filled with fringe, draping, drop waists, and slinky slip dresses. The ladylike trend is a favorite among many designers and will never cease to fail. You can bring this trend to your wardrobe by adding subtle hints of soft color pallets, along with anything that has beading, fringe, cinched waists, or hourglass silhouettes. Really play up the glamour effect. Just think of old Hollywood movies and draw some flapper inspiration from silver screen sirens such as Gloria Swanson and Mae West. I am happy that femininity is here to stay.
