You don't have to spend an arm and a leg on beauty products to get professional results. Here are some of my favorite beauty products, most of which you can find at your local drugstore. I use these items on a daily basis and I swear by each one!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque
Putting on this mask is like getting a professional facial in the comfort of your own home. It not only removes blackheads and blemishes, but makes your skin feel silky smooth. The fresh mint smell is very calming. Once you put the mask on, you will see it working right away. Especially on your blackheads. It also reduces the appearance of your pores and acne scars. I always check customer reviews on beauty products and this mask received 5 stars. An added bonus, it is really cheap! I typically try to apply the mask every day, but since I've been so busy, I can only do it so often. I've finally had some downtime, so I actually have it on as I write this. :)

CeraVe Moisturizer
CeraVe moisturizer is one of my favorite beauty products on the market. I have somewhat oily skin, but when I use this moisturizer, it absorbs into my pores leaving my skin looking dewy, not overly moisturized. It provides a good balance. It never feels greasy or leaves a shiny residue. I like that it is gentle and doesn't give off a potent smell. I apply this before makeup and before I go to sleep. It's pricey for a moisturizer. However, a little goes a long way. Cetaphil and Boots moisturizers are also some I have used in the past, which work equally as well!

Roc Correxion Eye Cream contains retinol and is hypoallergenic, which is great because even though it contains retinol, it is not as harsh on sensitive skin. I apply this cream gently under my eyes, forehead and on my neck. I use this product only before bed, because that way, it gives my skin time to repair itself. I have been using Roc products for three years now and I have noticed a big difference in how my skin looks and feels.

Not only do I use this sunscreen at the beach, but I use it on a daily basis. I wear sunscreen every day whether I am driving to work or running errands. I use it before I apply makeup. Preferably on my face, neck, chest and the top of my hands. My dermatologist told me that the sunscreen in your makeup is not enough SPF, so remember that before you go outside. The Coppertone NutraShield Sunscreen does not clog my pores, it's not oily and it has antioxidants that fight free radicals. You want to wear sunscreen every day, because if you don't, wearing retinol cream at night will do nothing for your skin. It is always important to protect your skin, not just at the beach or pool, but everywhere you go. Even, when it's cloudy!

I was very impressed with the SKII Facial Treatment Essence (http://www.geocities.jp/hongkong_skii/index_e.htm), enough so that I have continued to use the product daily as part of my skin care routine after the test period. It's a luxury purchase to be sure, but this is one of the best products that can really make a significant difference in your skin, and so worth every penny.
ReplyDeleteI applied the treatment each morning and evening after cleansing my skin and before moisturizer/primer and then makeup. Within just a few days I could see that my skin was much more supple and smooth - particularly in the t-zone. After about two weeks, I loved the beautiful glow my skin had - even without makeup.
