Some of the greatest fashion trends start in the winter. Fall is full of rich, warm colors, with luxurious fabrics and textures. Expect plenty of new wardrobe staples and modern takes on old ones. Mod 60s and sophisticated 70s inspired wardrobe have always been prevailing no matter what season approaches. 40s and 50s trends are classic and beautiful, for any weather. What was old, is new again. Here are some fall trends that are timeless, chic and easy-to-wear.
Faux fur coats and vests are a 60s inspired trend. Wearing fur can create an edgy look or transform you into a glamorous starlet. You can pair faux fur coats or vests with just about anything in your closet.
Shop for a tailored wardrobe. Look for classic pieces like a simple button down blouse and wide leg trousers or buy some fun accessories like, knee high socks and oxfords. Say goodbye to your skinny jeans, because wide leg trousers have made a strong comeback. This look is great for any time of day and perfect to pair with platforms or ankle boots.
One of the most popular trends seen on almost every catwalk was the camel coat. Also, find a sophisticated cape. A modern take on the poncho, capes come in various forms and are easy-to-wear if you just want to throw something on.
Velvet clothing is a very unexpected option for your wardrobe. This look is extremely versatile. If you want to feel like royalty, wearing velvet can do just that. Swap out your leather coat for a soft velvet blazer. Or, if you don't want to wear a full-on velvet ensemble, velvet headbands or flats are just as cute.
Animal prints have been big fashion faux pas in previous years, but the leopard print has remained strong in 2010. Wearing leopard can add an edgy, yet sophisticated feel. It is always fun and suitable for any time of the year.

Burgundy is the hottest color for fall, in any form. From, wine stained lips or a dark red coat, wearing burgundy is romantic, feminine and is universally flattering on any skin tone.
Big floppy hats or a felt fedora will keep you warm, while keeping you stylish. These hats go with almost anything in your wardrobe. Just keep in mind, it gives off a more casual look so, you will want to stick with neutral tones for fall.
Chunky knits and oversized cardigans are the go-to outerwear for cooler weather. Big sweaters are one of my favorite looks this season. I love the luxurious feel and the comfort factor that sweaters give.
