Dominating in every fall runway collection is the sultry color camel. According to Vogue, camel is poised to be the next neutral favorite. A warm camel coat, a chunky knit sweater or a beige pencil skirt will keep you looking chic from day to night. If the color camel doesn't strike you as very inviting, pair your outfit with leopard accessories. The color camel is virtually a blank canvas and perfect to accessorize with. Leopard and bright fluorescent colors really stand out against the warm camel tone. Try a leopard scarf around your neck or tie it on your handbag. Also, try a skinny leopard belt and wrap it around your waist to accentuate your curves. No more big bulky belts around your waist, girls! Of course, you can turn up the volume and wear leopard shoes, which are always sexy. As for the brights, do the same as you would when trying leopard accessories. A bright structured red tote or a neon pump just adds a second layer of icing on an already tasty cake. All of these accessories should be worn one at a time. Too much will overdo it, you just want to make a slight statement. Ladies, the "rocker chic" trend is done. Throw out your leather leggings and ripped up jeans, because women are marching to a whole different drummer. Looking polished and put together is making its way back into the fashion industry. As much as I love Balmain, the almost $2,000 razor shredded t-shirt was a bit ridiculous. On your next shopping adventure, find items of clothing that are timeless. Something you can get use out of from season to season. Dressing feminine and ladylike will keep you above all trends. Like I said before, why shouldn't you look glamorous every day?

The Must Have Dress For Summer

One summer staple you should have in your closet is the tank dress. Tank dresses are one of the most comfortable items of clothing a woman can wear. This summer, it is all about minimalism. When going out, always know that less really is more. The tank dress is so convertible, you can create multiple looks by just changing up your accessories. It is easy to slip on if you're in a rush, or if you just feel like wearing something non-constricting, the tank dress is perfect for you. There are many styles and fits to choose from, like long and casual or short and flirty. Gladiator sandals and wedges are perfect for a more relaxed look, or if you're feeling a little edgy, motorcycle boots will add something extra to your outfit. I just purchased my dress at GAP retailing at only $50. Here are two examples of tank dresses, on and off the runway. 

Summer Shorts

Over the years hemlines have become increasingly shorter, but the hot pants are taking this notion to a whole new level. Originally a 1970s trend, hot pants have been seen on runway shows from Blumarine, Dolce and Gabbana and Balmain. The name is very misleading. "Hot pants" are not pants at all, they are quite the contrary. Hot pants are teeny tiny shorts that have a negative hemline. A negative hemline, meaning no hemline at all. The proper-fitting hot pant follows the curve of your bum. However, there are many styles to choose from.  I don't have the guts to wear shorts that show my bum cheeks. Personally, I love high-waisted hot pants. Not only are they super comfortable, but they are multifaceted. For summer, these shorts will look great with anything. Try them with a tucked-in tank or a sheer blouse. Hot pants can go with platforms and wedges for evening or sandals and flats for a daytime look. You can also transform these shorts for fall weather. Wear a blazer, a white button down blouse and opaque tights under your shorts. Pair this look with ankle booties or knee high boots.

Tap shorts are certainly a more refined alternative to the bum-hugging hot pants. Tap shorts are loose fitted shorts made with silky, breathable fabrics that will make a chic, yet comfortable addition to your wardrobe. Inspired by forties lingerie, these knickers are feminine and flirty. Keep it simple with this look. These shorts are practical and can be worn during the daytime or evening. Pair your tap shorts with a lace blouse and chunky sandals for a night out or a boyfriend blazer and oxfords for a more casual style.

 

Old Hollywood Makeup

Old hollywood makeup is glamour personified. This makeup trend is all about defined brows, flawless skin, bold red lips and flirty eyes. Silver screen sirens like Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly made this look iconic, even to this day. The focus should be your lips. Bold red lips are seductive and intriguing. Try using a nude lip pencil to outline your lips (using a nude pencil will give you the advantage to make your lips appear fuller), then fill in your lips with cherry red lipstick. Perfect for any woman that wants to brighten up their smile. Adding definition to your brows will accentuate your features and keep a groomed appearance. Keep your eye makeup simple, but sexy. Create a feline look with liquid liner on the top lid. Avoid dark liner on the lower lid. Lashes must be full and heavy. I recommend bold red lips for daytime, but keep the glamour toned down.
